Custom Terrariums

I’ve always had a green thumb — I think it’s just in my blood. Growing up, our homes were always filled with lush green plants. We lived all over the West (California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon), and no matter where we were, there were plants everywhere. One of my favorites was a huge glass aquarium I turned into a plant display, mostly full of cacti and succulents. That’s where my love for creating one-of-a-kind terrariums really started.

As of June, Timeless Treasures by Julia is an official small business — we’re on the map! We kicked things off with a big yard sale that went better than expected, and my yearly plant sale did really well too. My daughters and I go on thrifting adventures, my husband helps me source local storage units and we process everything together, and my grandson helps move stuff too! My daughter configures most everything online (Facebook Marketplace and a few selling platforms).

I’m happy to report that it’s all been going great, and it’s helping fund repairs on the house. This is exactly why I love small business: my family is tapped in, creating our own income, and doing it on our own terms. It’s a lot of work, but we get to set our own pace and make up the rules as we go.

All of my terrariums are:
